This paved trail traverses some of Bali's prettiest landscapes and offers nature lovers a chance to get some fresh air, stretch their legs, and escape the more crowded southern sections of the island. The trek starts at an 8th-century shrine in Ubud and snakes across verdant hills for a little over 9 km (5 mi). • Great place for some solid cardio. Don’t come here as a tourist- nothing new, just a ridge walk with jungle below, on both sides. Still a great walk out in nature. Sometimes there are taxis at the end but don’t always rely on there to be some, especially late in the day. Don’t go in the heat unless you hate yourself. Bring water and comfy shoes. 3km distance to the end and back.
  • One of Bali most famous walking trek. Great place for a short and easy jog. About 3 KM one way. Becoming too hot after 9AM, so better visit before 9am or after 4pm.
  • Short hike to enjoy the green scenery of Ubud. Hard to spot the entrance since there's no sign that can be seen from the street. Look for 'Warwick Resort' sign, that's where you can find the entrance. There are quite huge parking lot for motorcycles and cars. Best to visit on morning or afternoon to avoid the heat. Very recommended to visit if you're in the area.
  • You'll definitely find a peace by visiting this place in the morning (before 7 AM) or afternoon (after 4 PM). End of the trip, you will find a café that has a very beautiful view. Please be careful when visiting this place during rainy season - the road will be a bit slippery.
  • Difficult to spot the entrance from the vehicular traffic. Entrance ia just before the bridge on river and there is a sign of resort at the entrance. Location is good for all those avid morning walkers but not for casual visitors / tourists. Make sure to carry enough water for yourself. Absolutely nothing of tourist interest here. But very good for a nice stroll in the morning or evening. Parking just at the start of the walk is free.

Where to stay in Ubud

Sayan Valley offers luxury accommodations atmospherically designed to fit the look and feel of the natural surroundings, with infinity pools, wooden lodges, and yoga-ready verandas aplenty. Less expensive alternatives are also available, albeit with fewer amenities and a little less isolation. If you wish to stay in Ubud itself, look for charming and inexpensive rooms rented by local families (with many including breakfast in the cost), or consider the pricier single-occupancy apartments.
