Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple, Tegalalang
(4.5/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Admire the intricate stone carvings and various statues and shrines at Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple. A Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, the preserver god who rules over water, this hidden gem features grounds filled with natural springs and lotus ponds inhabited by golden carp. You can feed the fish, roam the lush forest landscape, and even drink the pure cold water from the springs. Be prepared to descend quite a lot of steps to get to the site, but once you do you will be rewarded with lovely surroundings and views of the rice fields. Note that women will need to wear a sarong, and men a sash, to enter. • This place looks like it's been built in a quarry. It's a nice calm place to sit and just watch the fish in the big pond. The way the jungle just grows down the sheer walls is just amazing, You could be in a (Apocalypse Now ) film set.
  • The fact that this holy water temple is the least visited temple complexes in Ubud make it even more special to me. I'm captivated by the surrounding beauty and the tranquility.
  • A beautiful temple. One of the biggest attractions is that it is much less visited than other temples in the area although it has great significance in Bali.
