Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple, Tegalalang

(4.6/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web)
Admire the intricate stone carvings and various statues and shrines at Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple. A Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, the preserver god who rules over water, this hidden gem features grounds filled with natural springs and lotus ponds inhabited by golden carp. You can feed the fish, roam the lush forest landscape, and even drink the pure cold water from the springs. Be prepared to descend quite a lot of steps to get to the site, but once you do you will be rewarded with lovely surroundings and views of the rice fields. Note that women will need to wear a sarong, and men a sash, to enter. • We are very lucky in that when we came to this place, tourists there were two of us, because just passed a downpour and apparently nobody has gone, and it's actually one of the most beautiful temples and tombs. Nature amazes with its beauty and purity, and the presence of something unearthly, a sense of great power and strength. In order to get there, we must of course some work to do, go down as saying 300 steps to the elderly will not be very easy, and the back is harder, but it's worth it.

  • At the beginning I want to point out that part of the review is poorly written and refers to the place with a similar name, namely Mount Kawi. Gunung Sebatu Kawi completely Temple while the other place, which is right next door. It is, admittedly a little steps, but not more than 100. The place is neat, different animals live here as a parrot, hen, Rooster, duck or fish. You can go the purification ritual, accompanied by employees of the temple. Home is affordable and within the framework of the ticket can be borrowed free of charge a sarong. This is not a place well known, so tourists there is really few (during our stay it was here with 10 people). I recommend for all, who want peace and quiet.

  • The temple is about 200 steps away, unfortunately, there is no wheelchair access. In front of the temple are several Barkers trying to sell a sarong because the knee in the temples in Asia must be covered. This can be but safely ignored because you get free loan at the entrance to a sarong.

  • This place looks like it's been built in a quarry. It's a nice calm place to sit and just watch the fish in the big pond. The way the jungle just grows down the sheer walls is just amazing, You could be in a (Apocalypse Now ) film set.
  • The fact that this holy water temple is the least visited temple complexes in Ubud make it even more special to me. I'm captivated by the surrounding beauty and the tranquility.
  • A beautiful temple. One of the biggest attractions is that it is much less visited than other temples in the area although it has great significance in Bali.

  • Sebatu-Gunung Kawi Temple Pura Gunung Kawi Sebatu, Gunung Kawi remains near a beautiful pond that we went. Beautiful ponds like the fountain at the back sits the pagoda. It was various statues and unique features. It is a temple in Bali the most liked.
