Categories: Ruins, Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web
Admire the intricate stone carvings and various statues and shrines at Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple. A Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, the preserver god who rules over water, this hidden gem features grounds filled with natural springs and lotus ponds inhabited by golden carp. You can feed the fish, roam the lush forest landscape, and even drink the pure cold water from the springs. Be prepared to descend quite a lot of steps to get to the site, but once you do you will be rewarded with lovely surroundings and views of the rice fields. Note that women will need to wear a sarong, and men a sash, to enter. • This temple only as good as its beautiful environment. A deep valley with a small waterfall. Monument level it worth not to back these 350 markets.

  • Beware, many comments talk about the Gunung Kawi (hundreds of steps down to beautiful burials) but not the temple Gunung Kawi Sebatu, located to 5 / 6km to the Northwest. I would speak so of Gunung Kawi in Sebatu since it's the one title and a picture (the location specified is however of the Gunung Kawi) this small temple, very little frequented and so very soothing, absolutely worth a visit. Located in an amazing green, he's even a beauty. Its purification basins and its two ponds are a delight for the eyes. At the exit, a closed basin serves as pool premises. Although less well known than to other temples in the vicinity of Ubud, it remains however my favorite for its serenity and luxuriance of its vegetation.

  • Beautiful temple, which has nothing to envy to the much more touristy temple Ulun Danu Beratan! Very peaceful in this period of October, probably quieter than in high season. Not to be missed!

  • This place looks like it's been built in a quarry. It's a nice calm place to sit and just watch the fish in the big pond. The way the jungle just grows down the sheer walls is just amazing, You could be in a (Apocalypse Now ) film set.
  • A beautiful temple. One of the biggest attractions is that it is much less visited than other temples in the area although it has great significance in Bali.
  • The fact that this holy water temple is the least visited temple complexes in Ubud make it even more special to me. I'm captivated by the surrounding beauty and the tranquility.
  • Sebatu-Gunung Kawi Temple Pura Gunung Kawi Sebatu, Gunung Kawi remains near a beautiful pond that we went. Beautiful ponds like the fountain at the back sits the pagoda. It was various statues and unique features. It is a temple in Bali the most liked.
