Pura Luhur Batukaru, Tabanan

Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.2/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web
Hike up Mount Batukaru to find Pura Luhur Batukaru, a temple tucked away in its slopes. Sacred to the local Hindu population, the site is believed to protect Bali from evil spirits. Originally built in the 11th century, the temple was subsequently destroyed and rebuilt in 1959. Take a walk around this secluded structure, viewing its ponds, shrines, and traditional architecture. Explore a bit further into the surrounding thick mountain vegetation, including bamboo, coffee trees, and cocoa plants, but grab some warmer clothes because it gets quite chilly at this altitude. Our Tabanan itinerary maker makes visiting Pura Luhur Batukaru and other Tabanan attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • A temple to visit outside visits grouped in order to receive any favours, calm, soothing away from the tumult and buses of tourists. We visited the temple virtually alone and were able to capture the magnificence of this place.
