Categories: Bodies of Water, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web
Fresh air, misty mountains, and a major Shivaite temple make Lake Beratan a rewarding destination in the north-central region. Constructed in the 17th century to honor the river goddess Dewi Danu, this multi-tiered temple remains an iconic image of traditional Bali. The shallow caldera lake sits 1,200 m (4,000 ft) above sea level and provides a tranquil setting for boat rides, picnics, and long walks. The area also boasts several smaller water temples, as well as Indonesia's largest botanic garden. Bring your camera and prepare for cool mountain air by wearing clothing appropriate for higher elevation. By using our Tabanan holiday planner, you can arrange your visit to Lake Beratan and other attractions in Tabanan.

  • at the start of Ubud, it takes 1 h 30 - 2 hours to get there. It's very pretty, it's worth the trip. As it is at altitude, it's cooler. It's nice. This is not worth to sleep there or stay there more than 2 hours.

  • from this area, you can take a speedboat and visit or circling Ulen Danu Temple, it will give you different perspective seeing the temple
  • A great place for walking on a boat or catamaran. Lots of green territory and temples. You can simply stroll, while enjoying views of the mountains, which cover the clouds. Very humid and cool. Even under the rain hit. At the far end of the Park you can feed, hold and pet birds, and fangs.
