Reef Wildlife Area
The nearly 1,500 tiny islands and shoals making up Raja Ampat Islands boast some of the world's richest biodiversity. Home to Indonesia's biggest marine national park, this sparsely populated archipelago features thick jungle forests, white beaches, weirdly shaped atolls, waterfalls, and caves. Tourists flock here for the unspoiled natural beauty, as well as the range of outdoor activities that include bird-watching, swimming, and sailing. Most foreign visitors come for the unbeatable snorkeling in water so clear just looking down from a hut above reveals a dazzling world of over 1,500 fish and nearly 600 coral species. • Very long and tiring journey to reach them, especially those more remote. My wife has taken more than three months to organize it better. We drove from Bali where we were for business reasons, and two flights were able to get in Sorong, one of the nastiest and dirtiest ever seen around the world. Remember that knowledge of English is rare and very limited. Buy SIM site otherwise you will not be able to communicate with the locals. Provide Indonesian cash ... ... ... There are no ATMs and no credit cards accepted except in a few places. From there we went to board the ferry to another island with boarding very adventurous through other boats. Luckily my wife polyglot had learned the Bati their language so we did four hours of crossing in the vip lounge with air conditioning. Landed in this Marina gave its permission to do business. The surprise trip was not finished, but the chieftain was picked with a PIROGA........si you got it. No compass, no life jacket, with a small engine from 25 HP. We left in the middle of nowhere for us obviously. Finally, after three hours, wet as you could not, including all the belongings we arrived at this island, where there were only 10 people, so very essential, so to speak, without telephone coverage, no drinking water, no electricity but with a small generator used few hours in the evening. The feeling was that you can try a naufrago.ci were given for a large house in wood and straw in front of the sea ... ... what a view. Yoga mats with anti mosquitos within two. A primitive bathroom with a pipe that brought water from the roof ... tell all when it rained, no sink.., so why 5 stars. Why is this in my opinion is not just a wonder of the world for snorkeling, diving. We've seen it all ... ... fish whose colors and shapes I can't describe because it would be an understatement. Imagine the combinations more lives and filthy, as well as sharks, as well as the rare dovoungu, turtles, dolphins. All there a few meters from a sea of colourful corals and other creatures. The spot shows that where man has a discreet presence and not impact, nature WINS. Indigenous people and very generous to provide everything they had. Big heart. I tried to help them with what I had being a doctor, but it was small compared to their sincere friendship.
