Tour the royal halls and courtyards of Pura Mangkunegaran, a palace dating from in 1757. Built under the rule of Mangkunegaran I, it still accommodates the royal family today, although it has opened certain parts to tourists. View the interesting combination of traditional Javanese architecture and the obvious European influence on the interior design. As your guide takes you on a tour through the palace you'll find small exhibits displaying some of the royal family's collection, and might be able to catch some live gamelan music with a traditional dance accompaniment. • Ok banget , nostalgia ke masa kecil bersama keluarga besar & tidak banyak berubah & terawat rapi ........ semoga bisa kembali lagi di lain waktu dgn suasana yg lebih menyenangkan
  • I went because it was close to the hotel. Voices from the entrance gate from the right hand; So, pay entrance fees. I think the IDR 20,000. Each group must guide and, reluctantly gave 50,000 IDR. • I recommend you get the tour guide (it may be compulsory) to learn the history. It was flooded, for example, in 1866, which is why the marble is discoloured. A fascinating walk, albeit run down. I do ...  read more »
  • A bit of Central Java History The place is quite preserved and is still actively used as Javanese dance and gamelan practice. The family of the current "Regent" still live there in time for ceremonies. So this is not a dead place. Collections mostly come from MN IV (the current one is the IX). Love the small garden. and love the dance practice at the Pendopo Ageng. So calming.
  • Bersih dan terawat
  • I visited this palace two weeks ago. It was an interesting tour. I arrived nearly 15 minutes before close, but they still welcomed me greatly. Their guide was also very professional and informative. I simply love it and recommend to visit this palace whenever you are around Solo. You won't regret it.
  • Autonomous Principality in Kingdom of Surakarta. Ruled by Grand Duke instead of King. Pura Mangkunegara is the grand house of the Mangkunegara court family. It houses several buildings such as Main Building, several bangsal or wards used for various functions including museums, ceremonial, and private house.
  • It is a well preserved Javanese Palace, but please keep in mind that it has limited visiting times. On Sunday it only opens until 1 pm.
