Baluran National Park, Situbondo
Categories: National Parks, Nature & Parks
Experience an Indonesian version of the safari at Baluran National Park, a savannah grassland preservation area overlooked by a dormant volcano. While wandering around the wilderness you might see various monkeys, wild pigs, and leopards. At the main watering hole you can find grazing deer and the endangered Java buffalo. Admire the diversity of vegetation, with over 400 plant species recorded on the grounds. Observe the animals from a tower in the middle of the park, or relax in the mangrove forest or on the fine sandy beach. You will have to bring your own food, but you can get drinks at the small shops on site. If you want to extend your stay, note that camping here is permitted. Plan to see Baluran National Park and other attractions that appeal to you using our Situbondo family vacation planner.

It took a while to reach the savannah but we were told that it is best to visit during summer period where the colour of the landscape gets more beautiful. There's mangrove beach at far end of the national park. But we surely didn't come at the best time
The african-looklike savannah best visited in dry season. Dont forget the Bama beach too. Prepare your vehicles as the roads were super bumpy. Or take a walk instead for about two hours from the entrance to the savannah

Africa van java as people called it. It has a vast and beautiful savana crawled with deers, buffalo, forest chicken and monkeys. In skies if tou lucky, you will see eagles and many more excotic big birds. Ar the end of road, you will find white sand beach, bama beach. A beautiful beach with its calm shore. The minus drom this place is its roads and facilities.

Amazing national park! The Little Africa of Java!!!
Some people call this place The Africa of Indonesia. You don't need to go to Africa to see the folks of deer, and other wild animals in their habitat.
