Green Rinjani Trekking, Senaru

I choose this agency due to reviews but after my experience I won’t choose again. Food quality is perfect and also the tent is clean but there is no difference between this agency and the others one. In fact, the second day when we were climbing to the crater ( the hardest and difficult part) our guide tell us to go ahead ... never more we’ll see him. We climb the volcano alone, without any support and when we arrive we don’t have any water to drink or something to eat ... In conclusion the quality is good but the other companies are also good quality and this one is a little expensive.

A friend and I booked the 3D2N Tour with Green Rinjani and are totally blown away by the organization, flexibility, professionality and friendliness of everybody involved. We were picked up near Kuta at 4am at a pretty remote place. We feared that the driver might be delayed but he even arrived earlier as expected! We could have chosen to get picked up on the previous day and stay at the Green Rinjani Guesthouse for one night for the same price, but we had another accomodation already booked, so we chose the night pick up. After the drive to Sembalun we started the hike up the mountain at 8am with 2 girls the guys from Green Rinjani picked for our group. They were paired with us according to our own fitness level and it couldn't have been a better fit. The hike itself was very physically demanding as others have pointed out. It was possibly the most demanding trek I have ever done. Luckily we hat our guide Fahmi who kept us going by encouraging us to go further when we were sore, feeding us small snacks ("petrol") and being an overall great guy with a good sense of humour and great english skills. Also the godlike porters who carried our tents and all the other stuff up and down the slopes and fed us great meals three times a day. The equipment they provided us with was outstanding in quality and cleanliness and the the food was also more and better than we expected (fresh fruits for every meal for example). The porters and Fahmi also collected all trash we produced and brought it back down and even cleaned our campsite and the trek of trash from previous campers who weren't as considerate. All in all it was a once in a lifetime experience to climb Mount Rinjani and we could not have been happier to do it with Green Rinjani.

Phenomenal. From the moment we got off the plane until we left Lombok, Green Rinjani provided a great experience. They worry about the little things so you don't have to. The logistics: 1) Rinjanj waiting outside airport once flight landed even though we had communicated incorrect time 2) got to base at 12am and staff were ready and served snacks 3) Accomodations the night before were beautiful. 4) Friend did not have jacket and easily rented 5) After trek completed, Rinjani was flexible in making special arrangements for us to rest, as well as booked fast boat to Gili T, so when we were dropped, immediately had boat. Overall, Kana (sp?), the manager of the base, is super helpful and thorough. All cars we drove in were comfortable and clean. The trek: 2d, 1n summit 1) Amazing food during the trek. The curries were especially great. 2) Katot, our guide, was super friendly and helpful. 3) Submitting was difficult but reasonable for a group in decent shape. The biggest thing is bring hiking books and stay mentally strong! Only suggestion for improvement would be for guides to know a little more about the history of Rinjani and the 1257 volcano eruption as well as background on the environment. This would make the experience even better!

My son & his fiancé & I just finished this trek with Green Rinjani Trekking & it was amazing! Edy, our guide went above & beyond. I never could have made it without him. The porters, inclunding Awan, a new one were outstanding. Totally professional and true Supermen. I loved that we planted a tree and learned so much from Edy about the history & lore of the mountain. The meals were fantastic and although it’s a really challenging trek, these men made it a wonderful & memorable experience. First class operation!

The best trekking company for Rinjani! It's worth to spend more money, you will get delicious food (one time we had popcorn as a starter), a toilet tent, chairs and a very friendly guide and porters! And very important: The working conditions are better here especially for the porters! We can recommend this company for everyone! Greets to our Guide Adi :)
