Specialty Museum
Browse the collection of art at Le Mayeur Museum, the former home of Belgian painter Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merpres. The collection includes both the artist's own works and his collection of Balinese cultural artifacts. Although Le Mayeur only intended to visit Bali for a few months in 1932, he stayed for good after falling in love with a young legong dancer who became his lifelong muse. Sadly, the sea air has damaged the poorly protected paintings, but even faded, they still display the artist's great skill. With our international travel planner, Denpasar attractions like Le Mayeur Museum can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Have read about this Museum so called in. The history of the place was interesting but I felt the place itself was a little run down. The gardens were well maintained.  more »

  • Huge potential ruined by disinterested local authorities. Horrendously discoloured printed replicas of good, strong art. This place should be buzzing with tourists, have ORIGINALS on display and continuously restorated. Looks pretty much deserted. We had to search for someone to take our money for the tickets.
  • Good art not well manage. Hardly to notice due to covered with tent and warung
  • Aloha great place to visit amazing place to visit..they also have accomadation pollock right on the beach
  • Peaceful.Lovely old buildings of Bali. Serenity. Well worth the visit.
  • Cheap ticket. Faded artwork.
