Specialty Museum
Browse the collection of art at Le Mayeur Museum, the former home of Belgian painter Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merpres. The collection includes both the artist's own works and his collection of Balinese cultural artifacts. Although Le Mayeur only intended to visit Bali for a few months in 1932, he stayed for good after falling in love with a young legong dancer who became his lifelong muse. Sadly, the sea air has damaged the poorly protected paintings, but even faded, they still display the artist's great skill. With our international travel planner, Denpasar attractions like Le Mayeur Museum can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Better to see this interesting museum, before its very rich owner lets it completely rot. Good painting, spendid wood carved walls and nice garden  more »
  • This museum could be really nice but it is very badly maintained the paintings we lost their original colors. Really too bad. Go visit if you go there. A bit expensive entry 50000 per person

  • The main building can I find more worth than the decaying paintings, the annex building is in a very bad state.

  • Great unknown place and artist in Bali! Paintings are beautiful and wooden carved furnitures and facades are gorgeous detailed works, but unfortunately the whole house became museum is not well maintained and preserved. Paintings are exposed to humidity etc and furnitures r dusty and less appreciated as art pieces and antiques. Cheap entrance fee and should be taken more seriously. Still an inspiring place anyways...
  • Cheap ticket. Faded artwork.
