Monument 0 km Indonesia sits as the northernmost, westernmost part of Indonesia, and visitors come for souvenir and photography opportunities. 0 km, typically referring to the area of a country where it all "starts," is here represented as a large sign decreeing "kilometer 0 Indonesia." You'll find some small shops in the area selling t-shirts, local food, drink, and even a place that prints out personal certificates marking the occasion. Remember to bring your camera, not only to capture the sign, but also to commemorate the surrounding vista. The way home gelap2an. But sekaranggg ... ramee. Udah ada yg selling souvenirs (walo price is rather expensive), food macem2. Small small mosque with a beautiful golden dome, also more renovation and almost finished, electricity installation in lg sampe ats kykny. It would be very nice reply managed well. Hopefully fixed asri walo rame visitors.
Llamar monumento a eso es aplicar un eufemismo. Es un basurero caótico, y están construyendo un adefesio indescriptible, puede ser cualquier cosa. The view would be nice from the viewpoint if it is all clean and tidy, but is that nothing is saved. I said: not worth it.
Nice to go to the beginning of Indonesia.... it's a nice ride from Sabang or Iboih through the hills and greens. Really loved it. more »
This is the starting point of homeland of Indonesia from the west. And the new monument is still building and we just took picture on the giant letter sign of this OKM. However, for the three-days that we've spent it, it is full-of giant letter sign pictures. Driving there, and driving here to take pictures like these. But, if the tour is just like these, then I would expect more to understand the culture and local history. With only the giant letter sign - name of the place, I would only know the name of the place but nothing else.
As at 22nd December 2017, the monument was still under construction, so some chaos still reigned. Still, a good landmark to visit while in pulau weh.
The great place for me.. salah satu pencapaian hidup.. zero Kilometer!
It was exciting to know that we were standing at the (almost) westernmost part of Indonesia (because the real zero kilometer is in a tiny island 2 hours from this place). If only this site is better facilitated, with a more proper stall and viewing setting this place could be a wholesome experience for tourists.
Actually not the zero point of Indonesia but this is the farthest point can be reached by usual tourism. You can eat rujak, instant noodles, and drink coconut water while enjoying ocean view.
