  • You have to pay 20,000 rupees to see 2 houses and one under construction. The buildings are fairly recent just to see how it was the original settlement and the area is full of garbage and plastics. The site if that is where there was the old town of Ruteng Pu'u and the semicircle of stone is original, with its altar in the Center, 3 tombs and a tree of life. The only thing that is worthwhile, apart from a boy super simpatico who was explaining that it was every thing. It is not a must-see but if passed by the area it is worth. If it had good clean would be something different.

  • The "village" contains 2 large and 1 small traditional houses, so it is not a village. Although the villagers were missing. Nothing compared to other real traditional villages...Not worthit  more »
  • Upon our arrival in Pu'u village were we firstonce children 'fall over' took us by the hand and coated on one. That was somewhat strenuous, admittedly after a minute but once it became clear that one wants to be left alone the parents called to something the kids and you could move around freely again. You can see the HA only from outside (there are 2) and just a 3 is being built. Entry per person we paid 20 K and as we greeted the locals working in the middle of the village we were immediately invited (extremely sweet) coffee. We were with our Indonesian dictionary there and tried to talk what was rather amusing with English and Indonesian. A woman was slightly better English and so it has taught us a few words of Indonesian and we her some more English. It was also very interesting to see how the men who worked on the basic framework for the emerging home (it was worked only with Holzstecksystemen, which were amazingly accurate trained).
