Gong Cave, Pacitan

Categories: Caves, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 75+ reviews on the web
Named after a gigantic stalactite that produces a gong-like sound when struck, Gong Cave is known for its five "magical" pools, allegedly possessing healing powers. The cave, with the lowest point 256 m (840 ft) beneath the surface, features 12 rooms and seven natural springs. Notice how colorful lights illuminate the interior, but hold on to the railings while walking down the stairs to prevent slipping and falling. Bring or rent a flashlight, and take advantage of the area's souvenir shops, restaurants, and parking area. Put Gong Cave on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Pacitan vacation planner.
