Seaweed Farming, Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Lembongan
Categories: Farms, Tourist Spots
Follow a day in the life of a seaweed farmer at Seaweed Farming, Nusa Lembongan, where you'll learn about the lucrative local trade. The farming relies on two factors, the ebb and flow of the tide and the growth cycle of different kinds of seaweed. Seaweed can only be harvested at low tide, so the farmers must plan their day accordingly--even if that means going out in the boats in the middle of the night. The growth cycle varies from 15 to 30 days. Visit the farm and see the operation unfold, from the white fishing boats that dot the bay to the freshly cropped seaweed spread out on the beach to dry. Een geweldig mooi gezicht alle harde werkers (vooral vrouwen kreeg ik het gevoel) met hun manden en bootjes. Zeker de moeite waard om te bekijken en mooie foto's te maken.A great pretty face all hard workers (especially women I got the feeling) with their baskets and boats. Definitely worth to view and beautiful pictures.show original
It's quite a nice part of Nusa Lembongan. There is a traditional market nearby and if you want to see the seaweed farmers in action, you need to come at low tide.
A good look at local life and culture- fascinating to watch in the evening. We just walked along the coast ourselves and chatted with locals.
