  • Wonderful golf course which is very well maintained. Lady caddy seemed very knowledgeable and I assume it's consistent for the other caddies. Staff were polite and attentive. Just as the earlier guide mentioned, there's some construction works at Hole 17, with water bunker emptied. You could otherwise still play but this was not mentioned when I signed up. Scenery is mainly inland so you're not gonna see the ocean like some other courses. Otherwise still nice fairways.
  • Bali National does not disappoint as the island's premier course. Befittng its national moniker it is full of contrasts just like Bali itself. Like the road to the golf course which narrows from a three-lane thoroughfare to a one-lane side street, many of the holes have wide fairways that is made narrow by protective green-side bunkers leaving a landing strip requiring accurate approach shots. Just like construction work all over the island, there is some building work-in-progress marring course aesthetics. Especially the signature Par 3 Hole 17 which has now become an island green without water surrounded by construction debris and cranes that do not fly. Views of the sea are far and few between and I mean literally far in the distance. Nevertheless Bali National stands tall with its well manicured conditions and impeccable greens. The marshall even let me take my buggy on course on account of my strapped knee. But make no mistake that it is a tough course and be prepared to play over your par.
  • Course layout and design is top notch. However, the 17th hole was under major construction, so there was no water present. I was looking forward to playing this hole the most due to the pictures I've seen online. Wish they would have told us beforehand or offered a discount on green fees. What was even more of a let down was that I hit my tee shot 10 feet from the pin. Didn't feel as satisfying as it could have been. Secondly, there's a fee for a non-player to ride along. I find this ridiculous. No where have I ever played was there such a fee. Might be wise to rethink charging non-players, since most people are out here on vacation with their wives or significant others. Mine was taking photos of the scenery while I played. I see this as free marketing for the course. Lastly, they give you a (small) complimentary bottle of water in the cart. After that it's $20k IDR per bottle. When you're playing in the heat and the tap water is undrinkable, this should be free throughout the course. Just something to consider for management, especially when the price to play here is far more than anywhere else in Bali. Other than that, the course is in prestine condition. I do wish there were better views of the ocean like New Kurt has. Great caddies and staff, and overall I had a good experience playing here.
  • A nice golf course with lots of tall trees and bonkers. Very fast green.
