Wir waren dort zum Elefantenwaschen und danach noch zum Ritt durch den Dschungel. Since I read repeatedly negative comments about the "evil" tourist attraction: first brain turn, then post. No harm in a little background here. The elephants in Tangkahan are served eV and others by the German project's trunk. There is also a report on the net. We thought it was awesome there. The elephants made a stressed-out impression at any time, rather that with fun. Since I'm no elephant Whisperer is of course totally subjective. The experience, to get the big animals so close was definitely unique. Washing was already very beautiful (if I remember correctly five or six elephants and a very playful Elefentenbaby). The explanations of the guides that were also helpful. Tourists were approx. ten there. Stress came up in any way. Also in the following elephant ride, we had the impression that the animals have their own head. There was tried here and there in between plants, before it went on. In addition to the tourists the pachyderm used also for Dschungelpatroillen, which keep the wild elephants out of people. It also serves the conservation. For us, it was a real experience without aftertaste in any case, we like to support such a project with our entrance. All of us, it has further enhanced respect for the large animals in any case.show original

The elephants had to in a row with 3 to 5 people on their backs down the street on a walk. After about 5 minutes is there and new people on the back. It is well known that this is very bad for the spine of the animals and yet they have this 4 x per day 6 days a week. After they are done with drive they are washed. First time on command pooping. The elephants seem to be washing and bathing in the river like it but maybe also a rehearsed that little trick like the elephants shower and the kisses they give tourists must for the photos. Eventually the animals are brought back to their stay. To the ears in it pulled and fastened with heavy iron chains to the legs they wait there tor these tourists come. Very very sad! Do you like elephants? Then you go there not going?show original

We have only the elephants washed in the river where they so it seems revel in it. Of course this is not the natural environment. If we had we knew this in advance. It was nice but it should not hence but 2 stars.show original
