Blue Lagoon Beach, Manggis

(1.3/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
Bring your snorkeling gear to Blue Lagoon Beach to experience a day of underwater adventure just a short walk from Padangbai's main commercial area. Small but clean, this beach offers clear water ideal for gazing into the world of incredibly rich marine biodiversity. If you prefer to relax near the water, time your visit during low tide, when there's more sandy space to choose from. The area's restaurants offer refreshments and snacks, while local souvenir sellers bring their goods right up to the water. Climb the stairs leading down to the beach with care, and take a time to admire the sea views and rest as you make your way to the sand. • We (my father and I) are driven here by taxi from Sebatu (above Ubud). The ride took about 1:30. The taxi driver paid a small amount to be sold there. Presumably this is true only for cars, here I am just not sure. We only had to descend a few steps down to the beach. It was very small, which we like. It was the first beach where we were going, but so far I know the pollution there was minimal. There was some plastic but this seems to be more common in Bali. Above the "beach" is a resort and we have been told that the resort the beach clean. At the beach you can rent sunbeds, there is no umbrella, but if you're lucky, there is enough shelter of the trees. We have rented for 50 k pp. probably too much, but my dad is very bad at haggling (he does not). At the beach is also a small restaurant, the food is okay. Do try the avocado, mango, banana and pineapple smoothie. That is delicious. Also you can rent snorkel gear for the whole day, this took us 50 k in total. The quality is not necessarily great, but we had enough snorkel fun. Do you want to go swimming? Then this beach may not be the right choice. Once you get the water in runs come you already qualify with rocks and shortly afterwards is what coral. I personally have no experience with actually coral reef and tropical fish, so when I went diving here I looked my eyes out. The fish were beautifully colored and very varied. In my view it was nice coral reef, but it seemed a bit gray and dead. Once again, here I am not an expert in and if you just like I never have seen coral reef then it is definitely worth it. Though there are a handful of locals around that you try to sell stuff, but they are not aggressive and do not like long. All in all a nice place to come, but not a place I would come more often, because I've seen it with a day (does not apply to my father, but opinions differ;))
