Mount Semeru Volcano, Malang

Categories: Volcanos, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web
Take the challenging trek the steep and still active Mount Semeru Volcano. With a peak at 3,676 m (12,060 ft) and in a constant state of activity since 1967 (small eruptions happen every 20 minutes or so), climbing the mountain is a truly exhilarating--albeit occasionally dangerous--experience. Nonetheless, it remains popular with climbers from around the world, and you'll find groups of people rearing to tackle the slopes in the village of Ranu Pane. Be ready for a tough climb as the volcanic sand is slippery and the mountain slopes very steep. • We did the full pack. First view of dawn surrounded by a lot of people. Even so spectacular, especially the view of the Bromo volcano... ID warm because it's cold. I rented a sheltered spot and then the ascent on foot to the volcano... There is possibility to make a part really spectacular horse be on the edge of the crater and listening to its roar
