Paotere Harbor, Makassar

(2.5/5 based on 140 reviews on the web)
Conveniently located just a 15-minute becak ride north of the city center, Paotere Harbor represents a bustling hub of seaside and fishing activity. Survey the locally built, famed Bugis ships, which dock here throughout the day and watch as they load and unload goods. Together with the locals working the fisheries, these ships provide a valuable insight into the day-to-day business of the area. Walk down the dock to visit a variety of stalls; head south to experience the vibrant fish market. A visit to Paotere Harbor represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Makassar trip builder to plot your vacation.

  • One of the best fish markets, which have seen ldon necessarily between 05.00 and arrive at 07.00 - there is the busiest. From 08.00 is even less going on, 10: 00 a.m., slowing driving because the fish in principle is sold. A real highlight!
