Punthuk Setumbu, Magelang
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Good for watching the sunrise over the Borubodur temple, the short climb up the steps to Punthuk Setumbu greets you with unmatched views of the surrounding vista. The walk up the stairs is comfortable for those of moderate fitness; it's about a 15- to 20-minute hike. It is entirely possible to tour to the hills on your own, but arranged tours are a good option for convenience. You can also rent a car or minivan to visit the site. Good spot for sunrise. If the time of the month is right you could see the sun rises from in between the two mountains.
It was very foggy today. So we didn't get to see much of the sun rise. If not it's actually a magnificent view from the hill top. We stay nearby so getting there before 5.30am is a must.
Punthuk Setumbu.... Puncak dimana bisa memandang sebuah kota di bawahna tapi matahari pun bisa terlihat saat kecantikan dari bangun tidurnya di pagi hari!!!
This spot is one of the best place to have a nice Borobudur photo from distance. The ticket entrance is very affordable. After enjoying sunrise here, you can come to Borobudur, early morning view is the best!
With a short steep walk to the top, the view is probably one of the most breathtaking views of Borobudur ever. Make sure to come early in the morning before sunrise. We can also walk to "Gereja Ayam" (Chicken Church) from there.
Best sun rise you can view in Central Java! You will need to hike about 15 minutes uphill though so make sure you bring your shoes and a flashlight. I recommend going there at 5:00am to get the best view of the sunrise because the place is always crowded. Oh and this hill is famous for being in a movie called "Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2" in Indonesia.
