  • How it is. mentioned in previous reviews, you must unfortunately say that the tourist office employees belong to a gang of Abbot ochre. At arrival, I had a funny feeling. An access to the waterfall is ausfdrücklich supposedly only with guide. On demand, to walk alone, they were really angry and did not permit this. Ultimately, 150000 RP were made, which I found outrageous, especially since only 20000 stood on the tickets. After then we were told, that follows now a 45 minute walk, we said that we then didn't have the time, to come before dark in the hotel and wanted to return the tickets. Here, there is no way in led and English they suddenly no longer understood. After other tourists came, we wanted to share the unused tickets. Again, this was not possible, was apparently not and other tourists have different price. Suddenly it gave back half of the price then. For us with an uncomfortable feeling. I'm sorry - we encounter every day so much gracious Indonesians who have certainly every reason to ask for money, because their living conditions are difficult. Before these lovely people, I tip my hat, I'm missing any respect for the other.

  • After the steep and beautiful hike down the jungle and over bridges, we arrived at the waterfall, where we first had coffee on the rocks to enjoy the view (super coffee!) then it was time for the high...  more »

  • I do not understand some of the bad reviews here. This is a fantastic little excursion. The people were friendly and helpful. Entry for us was 150k for two people. There is a 2km trek to the waterfall from the guide office. It is mild but still a great initial foray into jungle environment. We saw amazing butterflies and bugs. Fruit trees and wild herbs grow everywhere. The fall itself is impressive. We went at end of March. Jumping into the pools at 3m was exhilarating so we did it again. Our guide Joseph showed us where was safe to jump from and took photos for us. One bit of advice. Take good trippy shoes/trainers. It is quite slippy on some of rocks. Bonus on our trek back was finding a beautiful stick insect/mantis beastie. We tipped Joseph.
  • The waterfall is okay, but it's nothing special. The waterfall is kind of hidden behind some rocks. It's fun to jump into the river from the rocks. The drive from Labuan Bajo was about an hour. The hike to the falls is about 30 - 40 minutes each way. It's uphill and a bit slippery, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're in poor fitness. Actually, I wouldn't really recommend it anyway because it's not really worth it.
  • Beautiful magical secluded waterfall with perfect swimming! Loved it. Hike is a little steep and road is a little scary but SO worth it. Lovely locals selling delicious fruit and drinks at the waterfall. Well worth entrance fee and nominal fee for a very helpful guide. Great to see such a beautiful natural spot and be able to give back to the local community at the same time. The community funded with the entrance fee is obviously taking great care of the waterfall and the path and keeping it all clean.
  • Nice rainforest canyon. Fun to jump into and swim in. U can get a coffee/coconut right at the fall so bring a bit of cash. We went in the rainy season so water is cloudy and the waterfall really pumps. I'd go again.
  • Don't go! It's a rip-off and definitely not worth the hustle or the money you pay. You have to pay an entrance fee which is okay, but no one explains for what we are actually paying. We realized that you are (hopefully) supporting the local community (who knows what the money is really used for) but the locals don't bother to communicate that. We found out after reading other reviews. We felt uncomfortable when we came to the rundown "office". The people there were not friendly at all, and we were just asked 140,000 for 2 people. We had no idea for what. No one told us that you get a "guide" to take you to the waterfall. The guide seemed not very interested in us or in what he was showing us. He didn't tell us anything about the village, local community, waterfall, forrest, etc. And we couldn't even ask as he was running away from us and always walking 50 meters ahead. The waterfall is nice but far from special and I was shocked to see that there was plenty of trash.
