  • Lonely planet indicated that it was inevitable so we went on a scooter in search of the big tree Farm... it took us 1.5 hours of research (once in the village). A sign, a sign, the few people in the English speaking village didn't even know. Eventually we found a large building bamboo set back from the main road. Really not found. On-site 5 people were talking but no one has calculated before it s advance towards them. Told us that it was the break and to go back to 2 pm. Inconceivable even wasting time we turn back. We were not even offered to see the shop or other. Believe nobody want to work too much or d attract tourists!

  • We (like all visitors of the leadership) went to the factory due to the info in the LonelyPlanet. From the Central Ubud for 250 k and back (driver was waiting out there). The factory is small and the actual production process looking at but little, cocoa from the start you can see and try. This includes various coconut sugar. The explanations are in good English and very authentic. All in all a clear recommendation, if one has to plan still an afternoon in Ubud :-).

  • To start is the Big Tree Farmhouse Cocolat Factory in an imposing fine building of bamboo. A nice explanation and tasting of 45 minutes and then through a small part of the factory. Well worth the visit!
