Garden Historic Site
Discover Bali's royal history at Tirta Gangga, a water palace featuring a network of fountains and pools surrounded by well-manicured gardens. Though it looks ancient, the palace complex actually dates back to the 1940s. Carefully restored after a nearby volcano erupted in 1963, the grounds boast an impressive eleven-tiered fountain that forms the centerpiece of the surrounding sculpture gardens. Make a brief visit to photograph these highlights and relax amid the verdant scenery, or plan a longer tour of the terraced countryside to see fertile rice paddies and a number of old temples. Make Tirta Gangga a centerpiece of your Karangasem vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Karangasem family vacation planner.

  • Our third time in Bali and every time we visit Tirta Gangga. The setting, the lay out, the atmosphere makes it irrisistable... A little extra money (1usd) grants you a swim in the public baths - a mus...  more »
  • Specifically go far not worth it. One name that the Palace, actually a small park with several ponds. Truth we liked much more than Taman Ujung. More greenery, flowers, more gentrified. About the fish in ponds you can write a single story-they are delicious! Advance buy more feed somewhere down the road-it is sold where and food for birds, where many cells hang along the roads and fish from across the pond will be circled only around you! CARP on 70 cm leaves in water lilies! 1 meter in diameter! If you want more water and was sanctified to enter, there's a separate entry RS 10000

  • Very clean and well maintained facility! For us to now the most beautiful plant, where we have seen up to now in Bali. No masses of tourists (we were 9:30), no intrusive guides,... The entrance fee is 30'000IDR per person.

  • This is one of the most impressive temple in Bali. If you want to feed the fish, I recommend to bought big package of fish food because it's much cheaper that tiny pack one.
  • The complex comprises of huge area of large waterbody and fountains with lots of stone sculptures, statues and water tower. There are also few koi ponds, lotus ponds to see.Few restaurants are there within the complex as well as just outside.Ample parking space is available.Souvenir shops are also there outside the complex.Place is always crowded with locals mainly at weekends. It's a good place to visit in eastern Bali trip.
  • Beautiful water castle.. the water so fresh.. you also can swim there..
  • A nice stop by if you have just been hiking in the east . Come early to avoid crowds. And feed the fishes or follow their trail. Experience the high aesthetic sense of the Balinese here. Its breathtakingly beautiful.
  • One of the historical water palace in Karangasem. Beautiful panoramas and it is worth to visit.
