Sipiso Piso Waterfall, Kabanjahe

3.6
#3 of 20 in Parks in North Sumatra
Look down at Sipiso Piso Waterfall, the tallest waterfall in Indonesia, pouring from a hole in the cliff face and plunging 120 m (360 ft) to the ground below. Observe this natural wonder from a viewpoint above the cascade, then descend the winding staircase to the base of fall, where thundering water crashes down, spraying you with a fine mist. The name of the waterfall comes from the local word for knife, referring to its slender blade-like shape. The Sipisopiso waterfall is located at the northern tip of Danau Toba. As a spectator you stand on top of the plateau, the waterfall you see from the same platform, but on the other side of the ravine. You can also go down to the 120 m at the base.

Less impressive than expected. Perhaps comes through because you think of up, to look. Very nice nature.

When constantly told that Lake Toba is the largest lake in the world ' at that height ', then do you expect from the waterfall also something to that effect, in terms of greatness. When you've seen the Niagara Falls, this waterfall a little meager in comparison. The height is reasonable, 80 m, but the width is disappointing, 4-5 m? Maybe.................
