Jimbaran Fishmarket, Jimbaran

Watch the fishermen haul in their catch at Jimbaran Fishmarket. Most of the fish, caught freshly every morning, ends up in Bali's high-class restaurants by nightfall. Be quick if you want to snatch a bargain before the restaurants get their hands on the best pickings. Prepare yourself for an intense nasal experience--outdoor fish markets have a reputation for smelling strongly, and this one follows the trend. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Jimbaran holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Jimbaran Fishmarket and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Great for those who do not come to Bali for the Sun, the beaches, shopping and luxury hotels

Fish market. It is a place where, despite all the disadvantages, run your eyes from the abundance of ocean inhabitants Range varies from several species of fish, to different kinds of shrimp and other crustaceans. The cons: very strong unpleasant smell of fish, narrow passages, where it is difficult to break up even two people, dirt, including puddles of mud, which raspljoskivajutsja on your feet. The price is lower than in nearby restaurants, but not very low compared to other countries (after all, it is Bali). Bargain especially doesn't work, because the price of all sellers say approximately the same, the price will be lower if the quality of the product is lower than the other. Cook seafood can be purchased in neighbouring Café, pay for cooking depends on weight. It turns out everything is very tasty. Therefore, if limited in means and want to eat seafood that can safely go on the market.

We went to eat at the fishmarket thanks to the recommendation of a local. We bought a tuna and half a kilo of squid for only €4. Then more made them us barbecue out for €1 and not served two rice dishes. We ate wonderfully and surrounded by locals. Totally recommended!

Where to stay in Jimbaran

After nearly 30 years of development spurred on by tourism, Jimbaran offers accommodations aplenty in the middle and upper price brackets, but not much for budget travelers. You can splurge by staying at one of several five-star beach resorts, or go for something simpler--but still comfortable--at one of the town's many mid-range hotels. Make sure to choose west-facing accommodations with a clear view if you want to enjoy one of Jimbaran's famous sunsets. Budget travelers are better off staying in nearby Kuta and making day trips to Jimbaran.
