Karimunjawa, Java

(4.3/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Rent a boat to take you island-hopping at Karimunjawa, a national park consisting of a string of 27 islands with white sandy beaches, swaying palm trees, teeming coral reefs, and gnarled mangrove forests. Snorkel and bask on the sand on tiny uninhabited islands, and see rare turtles and tropical fish of every color. On the main island, the only one with permanent inhabitants, trek through the rainforest-clad peaks, and dine on fresh seafood, mangos, and coconut water. Accommodations remain basic, with electricity available for only a portion of the day. Add Karimunjawa and other attractions to your Wonosobo trip itinerary using our Wonosobo trip itinerary planner.

  • Anyone looking for white beaches, blue sea and an impressive underwater world, is exactly right on Karimunjawa. The island invites you to relax and explore. Also, the people are all very friendly and helpful. My personal recommendation is the snorkeling tour with Islandhopping. Book this among other things in the Happynezz or the Coconuthouse can. Enjoy your vacation on this quiet and yet exciting island off the coast of Java, Indonesia.

  • Karimunjawa is coming home ... delicious Island, lovely people, nice places to spend the night. Check out go mainly to the market (pasar), for example, to buy some fruit. Or rent a scooter to drive around the island. The mainroad is since the end of last year, all set and you can just glide. Perfect beaches. It looks like the time has stopped here and you unwind without saying ...

  • With friends stayed in Indonesia in August 2016: a tour of 2 weeks trying to concentrate as much stuff as possible. Quite by accident we discover this archipelago to the North of the island of Java and in spite of the news in that regard were very few decide to try. The Ferries depart from Semarang and Jepara, choose according to your itinerary, we drove from Jepara because en route to Karimunjawa is shorter. Don't panic, there are ferries and depart almost always, the ticket can be purchased directly on site by informing you. We stayed at Omah Alchy in wooden cottages by the Sea (nice and cheap). The main island will serve as base for daily excursions leave from the port and take you on small islands with white sand, blue sea and palm trees. Ridiculously low prices as far as food goes. The return was more traumatic, the sea was choppy and the timing of the trip you are stretched (also depends on whether your boat is a fast or not). Council in each case to take a first class ticket to a few euros of difference, if the sea is rough you'll thank you made this choice! What else to say, if your itinerary allows, soak 2-3 days of pure sea away from it all ... will make you well.
