Shopping Mall Shopping
A trip to Senayan City will excite any visitor looking for a bit of retail therapy. Opened in 2006, the seven-story complex contains a large Best Denki electronics shop and a Debenhams department store, as well as a host of other famous international brands. Less crowded than some of its competitors in Jakarta, the mall offers reasonable prices, a large food court and many English-speaking staff to help you find what you're looking for. • Various good choices of food and fashion brand inside. This is an upscale mall. Partly crowded. We mostly see people either on the top or the lowest ground. They just renewed their food court interior and it's awesome.
  • Good collection of shops at all prince range and great food court and restaurants. Been there and enjoyed the Ramadhan midnight sale. What a great bargain.
  • Actually a nice shopping place. However it is not a friendly place for a family with young child (with stroller) as there are only two lifts at main hall. They are always full and therefore very unlikely the stroller can get in unless you try to board the lift from lowest it highest level.
  • Good place, but the security at food level kinda harsh and not polite. You can't bring anything look like food (even if you look like food). Crowded. Lift too long to wait. Car park nice with marker.
  • Very comfortable mall with gym, movies, and food. The new food court is too exclusive. Doesnt allow you to bring outside food and drinks. I like the old food court better.

Where to stay in Jakarta

A wealth of choices exists in Jakarta, a sightseeing destination in its own right and a gateway to the rest of the country. For luxury options, try the Lingkar Kuningan area, where new developments provide rooms with excellent views of the city. Head north to find more affordable hotels, offering comfortable rooms in local, non-chain establishments. Up in the Kemang district you'll find an abundance of backpacker and budget accommodations, such as hostels and rental apartments, in areas known for their small cafes, trendy bars, and nightlife.
