Jakarta Cathedral, Jakarta

4.4
#2 of 18 in Historic Sites in Jakarta
Visit Jakarta Cathedral, an impressive Roman Catholic place of worship in the center of the city. Consecrated in 1901, the cathedral displays an attractive Neo-Gothic architectural style, with two main spires stretching high into the sky, assisting the effect of the symmetrical facade. Head inside to see the Belgian-made Neo-Gothic-style organ and arresting vaulted ceilings. An upstairs museum details the history of the cathedral and Christianity in the country. • I'm muslim, but I am so amazed by her custodian, architecture and people of his very open people invite me in, inside the church there is a museum to his right on the second floor, the Museum's opening hours are every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10.00 s/d 12.00. Visits outside of the already determined the need to make a deal first.

  • One of many historical buildings in Jakarta. Well preserved building that still has its own beauty. A neo-gothic style of a Roman Catholic church. It is my beloved parish :D
  • Beautiful Cathedral. Serene surrounding. Well-maintained. Should have kept the old exterior rather than painting it white...
  • The most authentic building catholic church with neo gothic style architecture
  • One of the historic Catholic church in Indonesia. They offer 5 masses every Sunday.
