After I had read some positive reviews here I wanted to look at even that. To make it short: it was worth it at all do not. Although it has a lot of small shops, but for me the offer looked like reproductions of antiques. In addition, the market is on a very busy street with a narrow sidewalk is often blocked by different people, so wharlich no pleasure to stay. All in all worth a visit.

Antique market in Jalan Surabaya exists since 1974, and officially opened on honest, Governor of Jakarta at that time. Before building antique market in Jalan Surabaya, antique traders sold their goods through walking around Kota Tua Jakarta while carrying cargo on their shoulders to find people who want to buy them. Current traders in Jalan Surabaya are mostly second generations of former traders who trade through touring.

A large number of shops with a wide range of authentic Indonesian antiques. You are bound to find something for your house here.

About 75% of the stalls offer old stuff (old batik stamp, carvings, lamps, vases...) where the rest new case. The traders are not as pushy as elsewhere and who has time, desire, and place in the luggage, can get hold of sure lovely sweetheart. We have unfortunately found nothing and were slightly disappointed that the selection of the stands was similar.
