Gili Trawangan, Gili Islands
(3.3/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
Take a boat out to Gili Trawangan, an island of natural beauty and leisure activities. Named after a cave tunnel built here by the Japanese during World War II, the island has become a popular tourist spot, with accommodations, water-sports businesses, and restaurants ensuring a comfortable stay for international travelers. With no motorized vehicles allowed, rent a bicycle or ride around the small island in a cidomo (a horse-drawn carriage). With a reputation as a party island, the bars get busy after dark and dancing spreads out onto the beaches. • After a crossing on a shell of nut mounted on a big engine displacement, bye bye Bali, hello Gili T! Arrival as the start is feet in the water as you conjure bad out! They said, the arrival on the island is breathtaking. It's a welcoming island is peaceful I discovered only during November. Is easily done at the pace swimming and lazing around the island. Water and landscapes are gorgeous. Good trip

  • I am in shock to this place for two reasons (with the 3 gili Islands); First, it is a beautiful place, surprised beauty that form the 3 Islands and creating places for surfing, diving or just swim. Their palms and trees, all green and beautiful. On the other hand in second place I was the poor environmental management of the place, I am clear that I am in Indonesia, one of the places most polluting the planet, but every day come more and more tourists to this place, for the sole purpose of party and consume. It is sad to see garbage that are on the beaches, on the shores and in the sea, in the Woods and streets, and I do not speak only of plastic and paper, I speak of tables, chairs, diapers, floating, etc. I think for a responsible tourism, tenants should take care more this place if you want it to survive. The coral is dead on the banks, even there but boats ravage every day with, plastic bags floating like anything confusing turtles. And to make matters worse the horses used to transport tourists with heavy luggage are in terrible conditions, didn't see ever a bucket with water in front of them when they hope tourists, they are horses more young overinflated, 30grados daily weather. I suffered enough watching them drool every day that passed to my side, I wanted to help them, said tenants to give them water but they only winking and laughing. I will be a very exaggerated person perhaps, but what I say is there, in the light of all. Let's be responsible and not contaminemos more than it already is.
