#1 of 25 in Parks in Lombok
Take a boat out to Gili Trawangan, an island of natural beauty and leisure activities. Named after a cave tunnel built here by the Japanese during World War II, the island has become a popular tourist spot, with accommodations, water-sports businesses, and restaurants ensuring a comfortable stay for international travelers. With no motorized vehicles allowed, rent a bicycle or ride around the small island in a cidomo (a horse-drawn carriage). With a reputation as a party island, the bars get busy after dark and dancing spreads out onto the beaches. We have booked a day Snorkeling Tour for 100,000 IDR, where is promised to us to see five Schnorchenspots. At first, we thought offer cheap and super! At the end we have hit only three snorkeling spots and the highlights with the we have not seen "Blue corals and the wreck of the bounty". The reefs were only so-so and we have not seen colorful coral. Super disappointing!

We've been on this island for a little over 4 days. I lived in fear of getting disappointed and angry, after all the reviews I had read. And upon my arrival so it was: the ferry has it docks on the pier and had to jump into the water, and the main road was a delusion. Unfortunately we had too much luggage and it was really far from the port, and we were forced to use one of the carts driven by horses (who actually suffer, but to be honest I haven't seen in Thailand better treatment for monkeys or elephants, so unfortunately it's a widespread defect). Already repenting of having decided to try his luck, we tried to find positive sides. And wonder ... There are! First of all on the main road there was this whole mess. In the evening you could safely walk and choose locals who preferred (with loud music, with live music, romantic, expensive etc). Suspicious individuals were offering dubious substances, but it was enough to say no because they stopped to ask, and I was honestly not even in this case it wasn't too different from Thai (where in addition to drugs, also offered performances of girls), I have not seen many Drunks, as well as a sea of people (only Sunday night there was more movement), and all were having fun leaving alone the other. As for the Sea seabed is destroyed, and do you need rock shoes or flippers to not get hurt, but after all it is enough to read a couple of blogs to figure out you need to put them in my suitcase, so why not take them? The most beautiful point where bathing is the turtle point: the beach is wide, not Moor boats and there are dozens of turtles used to be the subject of attention from tourists (without the annoyance of course). I've never swam with turtles, and it was awesome. As for people, I must say that in Ubud were definitely more predisposed towards tourists. But even here we've got some great people. A guy at the hotel by noting that we liked the music of Lombok has kept us to show us some sort of combat sports and some dances on Youtube. Because you kept saying that the things Lombock were special. It didn't seem so they don't love their land. We fortunately didn't encounter fires in which burned garbage, and even all this junk around. Actually there were animal droppings that although were washed away, left their trace. Now if you look for the Maldives, don't come here. If you are looking for comfort, either. But if you have some sense of adventure and are people who see the upside and don't stop at the first trial, is the place for you.

We were able to participate in two dives around the Gili Islands. However this small archipelago is beautiful... victim of its beauty and its relative proximity to Lombok. Although preservation efforts are real... based on attendance, the very (too) high number of rotations of ships responsible for tourists... that left it in 5 or 10 years...? We're very far from the Robinson Crusoe mood.

This place just make my birthday so special! I am happy that I decided to come here with my good friends, we had a good time and enjoyed our stay. I know there is a lot of thing need to be improved so i hope government will put more attention to this place.

If you are not prepared you might be shocked on arriving. The island is very small and there is no other transportation than horse carriage and bicycle. Carriage prices difficult to bargain but try. The attraction here is snorkeling and diving. There is 100% chance to swim with turtles. If you really interested in it do not choose one of the cheaper solution but go with one of the dive centers. The cheaper one are a tourist trap they do not care about real snorkeling. They will take you to the other island for lunch to get there fee for it. Otherwise a lovely island but only for those who tolerate simple tourism with lower infrastructure. Do not expect the same kindness from locals than in Bali.

Maaannn! This is just a heaven island. The tourists from all around the world come here to spend their vacation. They water here are very crystal clear, foods are good, people are honest, nights are so energetic. When you come here, make sure you have long time in your hand. Otherwise, you may regret.

This place is ridiculous. Seriously.. How do you cram that much beauty and fun activities in to such a small island? The good thing about this bit of heaven is that it's big enough to get super drunk and weird and not have to see the people that you embarrassed yourself in front of.. But small enough to catch up with the beautiful people you do wanna see again. Its got everything.. The quiet side of the island for families, couples boring people... And the east of the creeps and freaks that need constant stimulation and hope to write them selves off. Transport on this island is your legs.. Or a bike usually about $7 Australian a day for hire. I wanna get pregnant to this island and have it's babies.. Then I wanna get pregnant to the babies and have their babies! If anyone wants to take me with them, I'd me more than happy to come hang out in Gili with you!!
