  • When you see the tail of "devout" waiting to soak in the sacred waters, too bad most are tourists in bad feeling...

  • We have visited the temple with a guide. We recommend to visit this on your own, which gives you more time to do everything. The temple has many nice details and a rich history. At the temple, you will receive a sarong which you can use to visit the temple. We are not the water itself. It is a holy place for the Balinese people and not really meant for tourists. The sweet spring is apart of the baths and you can simply as a tourist. We were there by the end of the morning and then it was t fairly busy.

  • Beautiful temple worth especially seeing during the celebrated Christmas, or rites. At the time of my presence and so it was. The temple was filled with local residents complaining the gifts, modlącymi as also using a cleansing bath. It is worth taking the time to calmly passing between them to feel the atmosphere of this place

  • Beautiful temple. The level of details in the structures are just amazing. It really gives you a feel of Bali, and its history. There's usually a long queue of locals and foreigners taking bath in the holy water. Worth noting, you'd need a Sarong, even if you're wearing a jeans. They don't really care about the top, it seemed like they don't mind minimal clothing on top part of your body. You can borrow a free Sarong from the Sarong counter near the entrance.
  • Beautiful experience!! Definitely a must do. Please don't be alarmed, the water may be chilly and there are fish in the water. You must be covered. Bathing suit, shirt, and sarong if you are getting in and if you're walking around. There's a sarong that you can borrow to walk around and one for rent if getting in the water or bring you own. The changing areas are unisex. Follow the flow of the locals to ensure you use only the spouts that are appropriate. After going in the water, walk around the entire temple.
  • Nicely located temple, beautiful place, great architecture and a good example of Balinese culture. However, avoid that place if you: - Are not interested to see only tourists bathing in the holy water OR - If you don't want to be forced to exit the temple area through shopping alleys, where everyone wants to sell Sarongs or the like to you. If you prefer quiet and authentic Balinese temples, there are better options.
  • Oura Tirta Empul is the Healing Spa & is rammed because it’s said those who bath in its waters will have good health. It’s also a stunning example of An Indonesian temple here in Bali. Entry is cheap at 15,000 per adult and 7,500 for children a sarong is included in that price. If you want to bath you will need to purchase a second swimming sarong for more. Changing rooms are available but cost extra for a locker key ( note you can not take bags etc into the spa area) Each fountain is for a different reason and two of the end ones are for cleansing after a funeral or death in the family Etc which is why very few folks will be at them. All in all a great place to visit with family takes around 1.5hrs to really enjoy the complex .
  • Had a beautiful experience there. The holy spring is indeed holy. My husband and I prayed there after being advised by our tour guide to dip ourselves in the spring water and pray to be blessed with a child...sure enough a month later I conceived. We now have a healthy baby boy. Go there with an open mind and experience for yourself!

Where to stay in Gianyar

Neighboring Ubud has more to offer in terms of accommodations, but Gianyar itself boasts a feeling of being off the beaten track--something its more frequented neighbor cannot provide. Stay in simple guesthouses for a real taste of life on the island at a low cost, or consider one of the more attractive resorts, where quirky architecture complements the scenic features of the landscape.
