  • A temple where Hindu pilgrims and tourists Gadding share pools and visit temples, but all this in harmony despite the influx. Purification pools are an experience to live alongside the Balinese (and respecting their traditions by covering of a sarong). The visit of the temples around the pools is also not to be missed. The beautiful house which overlooks the pools is a former president of the Republic strong fans of beauties which the Balinese tell that he made them call when he distinguished in the pools. The maze of shops at the exit is fun, but it still manages to escape to the parking lot. Not to be missed.

  • Tirta Empul is one of the “must see” temples in Bali which means a couple of things: 1) your experience will be worth the visit, but 2) you will not find any peace or serenity at this temple (crowds)....  more »

  • A beautiful temple with a really unique aspect - worshippers get into the water and pay their respects to a row of fountains. Although tourists are also allowed to get into the water, I feel like they take away from the spiritual element a little. Still, most are respectful and behave.
  • Lovely old temple. Nice place to go in Bali after covering the major destinations. Fish one is interesting. Architecture here and at all other temples is Bali is just mesmerizing.
  • Tirta Empul is a Hindu Balinese water temple-- be respectful and either bring along or rent a sarong from the premises as you will not be allowed on site without one. You'll find individuals going through purification rituals going from one spout to the next-- not only for locals! Partake in this if you have the time.
  • This is a Balinese Hindu temple where people come to purify themselves as well as pay homage to ancestors. One can rent a sarong and join the Balinese people in taking a bath from each of the fountains. The water is amazingly clean and pure and spiritually refreshing.
  • A very beautiful and peaceful Hindu Balinese water temple. You'll see local people dipping and taking holy water, teachers teaching children in the temple. Amazing experience.
