Sikidang Crater, Dieng

(190+ reviews on the web)
Geologic Formation Nature / Park
Boil an egg using volcanic heat at Sikidang Crater. The shifting volcanic terrain has created a pool of boiling water suitable for cooking eggs, although you should only do this under the supervision of a guide. Grey ash and rocks cover the landscape, which is full of active steam vents and hot stones. You can get right up next to the main crater, which contains bubbling mud and billows with sulphuric steam. Bring a face mask to protect yourself from the steam and the rotten-egg smell. Make Sikidang Crater a part of your Dieng vacation plans using our Dieng travel itinerary planner.
