Canggu Beach, Canggu

Inspirock Rating:
3/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web
Surfers love the rolling waves of Canggu Beach, a 8 km (5 mi) stretch of black volcanic sands broken up by the occasional small river. Grab a board and tackle the surf yourself, or kick back and enjoy the show. From renowned and challenging reef breaks to more accessible swells, the beach offers something for surfers of all levels, though the strong currents pose a hazard to all who enter the waters. A string of villages along the coast service their respective section of the beach, providing a handful of cafes, bars, and vendors selling beers out of a cooler directly on the beach. The laid-back surfer atmosphere, and the lack of ideal sunbathing and swimming spots, keep this stretch relatively free of the hustle and bustle of Bali's busier tourist beaches, leaving you to explore the rugged coastline in relative peace. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Canggu holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Canggu Beach and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.
