Where to stay in Batam

Batam offers accommodations ranging from small hotels and apartments to large beach resorts, but without much in the budget department. By far the most popular spot to stay is Nagoya in the center of Batam city, on the north coast of the island. There you'll find plenty of activity, including a range of bars and restaurants, as well as close proximity to the beach. For something a bit quieter, try a spot close to the beach in Nongsa, on the island's east coast.

  • This doesn't look like a lively mall. It looks dead and nothing much to be seen. Please skip your trip here, and avoid here unless you need to travel to the jetty or nearby hotel.  more »
  • Not recommended for window sopping or sight seeing. We prefer call it 'shop. Seller are friendly and helpful. In front of mall there are oriental restaurants with average taste. Only 2 minutes walking...  more »
  • Is basically a dead mall with a cinema on top floor... Can't even find any decent food /local food in this mall. Just skip this and go straight to nagoya IMO.  more »

  • This mall is a ghost town. Almost all the stores are closed because the mall has no shoppers. J.Co is good for coffee and donuts, and the cinema is a nice place to see a movie.
  • The mall has a huge dept store that sells things that are relatively on the more pricey as most of the people who shops there are not locals. The cinema and massage places are nice, apart from that, everything here is empty. Even carrefour moved out! And Breadtalk closed down.... I am glad there is still J.Co and KFC...
  • Lots of food varieties with good price. 5 floor shopping mall. Food located at the highest floor. Good place to shop. Supermarket is at ground floor. There are even shops and food place outside surrounding the mall.
  • This is the best hotel in town, which surrounded by foodcourt, cinema, night club and super market, all in one area.
  • Nothing much except for a movie theater and ktv... walking distance to seafood reataurants
