  • This musuem is definitely the right place for students who are pursuing their Geology course! A great place for research and understanding. I paid the local price (they mistaken me as Indonesian).  more »

  • Kinda surprised with recent visit here, I can't tell if I was this excited since the last visit. The museum is more visitor friendly with their engaging interactive features, touch screens and simulation, though some of them was not functioning properly. Still need a lot of works here and there, until then this is a good place to go with children.
  • My son always asks to stopby to this Geological Museum on every trip to Bandung. The display is probably above-average for a museum in Indo. The earthquake simulation machine on second floor always in-repair every time of our visits. However, on our recent visit in June 2017, it looked like the souvenir store had been upgraded to a much nicer store and addition of photo booth with dinosaur (25k per picture) and very friendly staffs. We hope the museum keeps upgrading and including many simulation/simulators and interactive displays for kids learning. Two thumbs up for the recent upgrade on the souvenir store and the photo booth.
  • The entrance ticket fee is cheap. Only 3000 for adult. The place is well maintained. Interesting to learn about earth science - geology
  • A well maintained museum. Affordable. Suitable for adults and grown ups
  • A museum transitioning to a more modern, hands-on style. Worst thing is that there is very little translation into English. But thoroughly scientific, no beating around the bush about evolution here. Interesting exhibits regarding hominid discoveries in Java. A mild earthquake simulator.

Where to stay in Bandung

Consider staying close to the main train station for simple hotel rooms at affordable prices--and some more expensive brand names--well positioned to explore the surrounding region. In the area surrounding Bandung Indah Plaza, find a cluster of more upscale hotels with comfortable-to-luxury quality rooms, close to the main attractions and key shopping streets. Look closer to the river for quirky boutique-style hotels, and throughout the city for standard guesthouses offering simple rooms at economical rates.
