Jemeluk Beach, Amed
(4.3/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Walk into the water at Jemeluk Beach, and within a few steps find yourself surrounded by tropical fish of every color. The immediacy of the teeming coral reefs, combined with the shallow water and weak currents, make the bay ideal for beginner snorkelers and divers. Several diving schools operate on site, so you can easily learn or hone your technique. The stoney black sands with boats pulled up all along their length don't favor sunbathers, but they certainly create a picturesque setting for a seaside stroll. You won't go hungry at the beach, with plenty of good restaurants serving up delicious fresh seafood. Please be careful about standing on coral while swimming, as this kills the coral permanently. Using our online itinerary creator, Amed attractions like Jemeluk Beach can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Jemeluk is the place to go if you want awesome snorkelling straight off the beach. Lovely clear waters, plenty of fish and other critters... see if you can find the temple and the love heart!
  • Nice but Stoney beach. Perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling with the black lava sand and the colorful fauna. There are "sellers" at the beach but if you say no they won't hassle you anymore. Bring ...  more »
