  • There are some places in Indonesia, where you can see "Saint eel". The most famous of these places is certainly on the island of Lombok in Pura Lingsar. With very clear water in the smaller and larger fish swim a very beautiful pool of water in the small place Waai in the vicinity of Ambon city, there. At the end of this basin, the villagers do their laundry and directly below the sacred eels from Waai live. After you paid a small fee of 50,000 IDR, a native attracts the good one metre long eels, thick as a forearm, with beaten-up eggs out of hiding. We could see at least 6 eels who came immediately and without fear from their hiding place under the stones out and feed themselves. There are about one meter below the place where the eels have their stash, some morays that curl is not simple eggs out of hiding can be. Here, raw fish is used to attract. The moray eels only briefly come out of hiding, to shreds then they withdraw immediately back off to seize the fish.
