Inspirock Rating:
3.8/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web
Perched at an altitude of 1,623 m (5,326 ft) sits Shevaroy Temple, a dark hermetic cave that shelters the idols of Lord Shevaroyan and goddess Kaveri. The panoramic view of the surrounding mountains from this plateau-like summit will give you plenty of photo ops. Upon entry stands the deity's idol, while a darkened tunnel behind it continues inward--according to temple's priests, it extends about 480 km (290 mi). Nice cool weather at such altitudes makes the visit refreshing and enjoyable, but bring extra clothing just in case. • Very old temple. To enter we need to bend and go inside. Outside the temple, there are multiple view points and play area for kids.
  • The drive was great. You need to bend well enough to get into the temple. Also have view points around the place, which are good to visit
  • It is a Cave temple. It was old and well maintained. Excellent place . located in Highest peak of yercaud
  • Very nice view point, must visit. This Temple has a small cave and a story - the cave goes till Mysore, cauvery river, etc but the pandid says no one seen the other end yet as oxygen not available after some distance and Govt restriction.
  • Breath taking. Went there to see an ancient cave temple and found the place to be really really amazing. As we were nearing this temple, Kids started screaming with excitement of the height and the view. As soon as I stopped the car, Kids got out and started screaming more. View was like 300 degrees of lined up green mountains all around. We could count almost 7 mountain layers one behind the other in any direction we looked. The whole place is like great gaint wide 3d landscape painting. It felt like we are at higher level than whatever we could see. We could see rain and raining dark clouds far away and lower than level where we were.
  • Nice temple located in a quiet area...
  • Ancient and amazing cave....
  • Cool cave
