Kiliyur Falls, Yercaud

2.5
#2 of 6 in Parks in Yercaud
Waterfall Nature / Park
The waters of Yercaud Lake tumble 91 m (300 ft) across hundreds of slabs of rock, creating the foam and spray of Kiliyur Falls. After a scenic and steep descent of 300 steps into the lush forest, you can enjoy the sight of the crystal clear cataract. The quantity of water varies, so check for the best time to visit. The falls lie 2.5 km (1.6 mi) from the lake and some 30-40 minutes drive from Salem, a route well serviced by buses and taxis. The final 500 m (1,600 ft) of the trek to the falls are on a rough pathway that demands a certain fitness level. Make Kiliyur Falls a part of your Yercaud vacation plans using our Yercaud vacation planner.

  • Damn!! this place is in a Valley kinda place. we have to walk down nearly 200 steps deep down side of a hill. The view through the valley is good. Actually I visited there in wrong season, Les water in falls. Couldn't see the real beauty of it. But still a good place to visit. ***Caution****:- Pregnant Ladies, Small Kids, Over weighted ppl it will be very difficult for you guys to climb back those steps, So you guys better avoid this place.
  • Walk all the way downhills to enjoy the nature of Kiliyur Falls and enjoy the voice of nature. Good for trekking. Sad thing is the roads are not maintained well. Finally water falls with no water...Good place to visit during season.
  • This falls is only worth watching right after the rainy season. There are about 300 steep steps that one has to climb down to watch the falls. The journey back is excruciating. Not at all recommended for kids or elderly. The steps per se are not well maintained and very uneven. The waterfalls itself is peaceful and sound of rushing water does have its own charm
  • We went there July 2nd, 2017 - its a beautiful trekking spot with waterfall but the day we went there is no water fall ... people are disappointed. Seems Yesterday and Today's rain in Salem and near by area, should get the water falling down from the mountains. If anyone enjoy the waterfall do post your review for others to know and visit the place.
  • Scenic place. We went in April, there was no water (not even a drop). Trekked to the top of the falls. Spectacular view. Note the following points. 1. Very steep climb. Need to be reasonably fit to reach the waterfalls 2. Not recommended for aged people. No safety features/ places to rest on the climb. 3. Carry sufficient water with you, but take care to hide it from the monkeys.
