Kiliyur Falls, Yercaud
(2.6/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
The waters of Yercaud Lake tumble 91 m (300 ft) across hundreds of slabs of rock, creating the foam and spray of Kiliyur Falls. After a scenic and steep descent of 300 steps into the lush forest, you can enjoy the sight of the crystal clear cataract. The quantity of water varies, so check for the best time to visit. The falls lie 2.5 km (1.6 mi) from the lake and some 30-40 minutes drive from Salem, a route well serviced by buses and taxis. The final 500 m (1,600 ft) of the trek to the falls are on a rough pathway that demands a certain fitness level. Make Kiliyur Falls a part of your Yercaud vacation plans using our Yercaud vacation planner.

  • When we visited in December 2016 a day after rains we could see just a little water, but it would have been more beautiful if it was full. The boulders around speaks of the beauty. Secondly, for those...  more »
  • This is one point that'll involve good amount of trekking... We need to climb down around 200 steps I think. The falls is nice, but with very less water it might be a spoilsport esp. if it doesn't mat...  more »
  • This is a very calm and quiet very very beautiful waterfall in Yercaud which you will be able to see in full spate in monsoon.

  • Must Place to Visit if You Are In Yercaud, Not Alot Of Vehicle Services Back to The City From Waterfall, So Better Come With Own Vehicle or Ask The Vehicle Guy to Wait ... Climbing Up & Down The Stairs is Very Much Exhausting, But it's Worth It As It is Less Crowded & You Can Enjoy Much if You Go After Afternoon ... WaterFall Has Many Layers, If You Are Up For it, You Can Go As Down As Possible, But There's No Proper Way Down Though Once You Reach The Falls, But Be Careful Of The 'Barbed Wire' Around it's Not Quite Visible ...
  • Best place to visit in Yercaud. There's not much water, though. You can chill out for sometime, peacefully. Lots of climbing needed while coming back.
  • Trekking experience was awesome. Elders can't climb the steps, it was too steep. Only people who are less than 35 years old could easily climb. Nice view. Its worth seeing it.
  • Very small lean falls. Nice climb down 250 steps exercise. Nice place to take pics at the bottom. Lots of rocks. Worth the climb.
  • This is a hidden gem, hard to access but beautiful. But there beauty of this place is affected by the plastic garbage left behind by ignorant tourists, the dissocial behaviours of young men under the influence make it an unfriendly place. The walk back is tedious but I suppose it makes the place extra special.
