Sundarbans, West Bengal

4.3
World Heritage Site Sundarbans spreads over 10,000 sq m (3,900 sq mi) and is the largest tidal saltmarsh mangrove forest in the world. Literally translated as 'beautiful forest' from the Bengali language, the protected forest shelters crocodiles, monkeys, turtles and around 400 Bengali Tigers, the largest reserve to protect the endangered beast. Take a boat tour along the river past submerged trees and admire the forest canopy and wildlife within. Boat trips often provide food and refreshments along the way, and remember to wear mosquito repellent. • The Sundarbans is the largest mangrove forest in the world, is the heritage of bangladesh; This immense forest that stretches along the southern part of bangladesh. My friends and i went on a day hike in the forest of sundarbans and it was well worth the first because you breathe clean air and disconnect from the town again in a world completely parallel. This forest is exciting and is quite impressive from the colors, smells and sounds of nature offering! Unfortunately we were unable to unravel the mystery of the Bengal tiger but we saw topics like crocodiles, verbiatti, monkeys and many birds. The green of this forest is truly spectacular. Recommend it to anyone who is in bangladesh to visit this vast bright green writing and enjoy nature to the full. Ciaooo:-)

  • Sunderban was proudly nominated for the Seven Wonders of the world. It is a world heritage site. & the largest mangrove forest in the world. Royal Bengal Tiger is one of the proud animal of this forest. There are a lot of trees & animals live in the forest. It is the matter of regret that People are cutting trees at random. Through this process the animals are in danger of living.
  • The fleet of migrated birds making their way, got trapped in my camera in Jan 18. Awesome experience at Sundarban, the largest mangrove forests in the world. An weekend trip to this place is just awesome. You will feel like you are in a heavenly place, there is no pollution. Whole day sailing in back water in search of a " Royal Bengal Tiger " is no less thriller. If you happen to interact with the villagers you will come to know about their simplicity. Sometimes I felt myself that rural life is far better that urban life. People have their own cultivation, own pond and what not. They only miss the hue and cry of a city.
  • Sundarbans in the largest mangrove forest on earth and a UNESCO world heritage site. Sundarbans is located in between two neighboring countries – Bangladesh and India. Majority of the forest is located in Bangladesh. It is home of the last remaining Bengal tigers in the world and many other wildlife. Environment of Sundarbans is tranquilizing and visiting this forest could be an once in a lifetime experience. That is why Sundarbans comes as number one on our list of the best places to visit in Bangladesh.
  • I took with Bengal Tours a three day boot trip into the Sundarbans. We traveled with their smaller boot - we have been 21 passengers. I did enjoy the trip. The wildlife, the views and the food where great. The facilities on the boat are ok but quite basic - the cabins are really small and instead of showers we had just washrooms. The exhaustion system of the boot is not working well. So it was not bearable to sit in the sitting area on the roof - where also the food is served. The noise there was above 95 decibel! I definitely would recommend a trip to the Sundarbans. You have to be careful to take a smaller vessel and you have to be lucky with the group - because if they are not quite in the forest you will not see anything.
  • Sundarbans is a magical place! I visited Sundarbans in July. Unfortunately, there were no group tours available at this time because it was low season. I luckily found Arranger Tours & Travels in Khulna that arranged a 2 day tour for me. We used local transport to get there and the journey was a real adventure! Driving through the countryside and the rural villages was amazing. We stayed at a little cottage which was awesome and so peaceful. Unfortunately, I couldn't see so many animals because of the rainy season. Nevertheless, it was definitely worth it! The very experienced and friendly team of Arranger Tours & Travels made this trip unforgettable!
