Kailasa Giri, Visakhapatnam

(4.5/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Escape the bustle of the city at Kailasa Giri, a large hilltop park brimming with tropical plant life. From many spots in the park, you can admire sweeping views of surrounding beaches, forests, and the city itself. If less-fit visitors have trouble climbing the hill, consider taking the cable car to the top instead. Children will enjoy the swings and the toy train that rolls around the hill during the day. Take your own food to have a picnic, or grab a local snack from the onsite food vendors. Put Kailasa Giri into our Visakhapatnam tourist route planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • This tiny knoll abutting the sea is easily a must visit place of the city. Once you are on top of the knoll, you'll get some spectacular views of the city and the sea. The civic body have maintained a lovely floral park on the top. The statues of Lord Shiva and Parvati adds on as icing in the cake. If the hudhud cyclonic storm had not happened the place would have been at its best.
  • It's a good place but many people gathered hear for lunch/picnic also turistparty...A common people place...Roapway r maja I alag hai...Tiffin place hear...but costly..
  • Any visit to Vizag is incomplete without a visit to KailasaGiri. This place maintained by VUDA (Vizag Urban Devpt. Authority) is superb, right from the Cable Car ride to the top. A must is the Toy Train ride around the hill that gives a 360 degree view of Vizag city and it's beaches. The Park is good as well. Visit in the evening, so that you are able to see the lights coming on in the city below. In October, we had some rains by the time we left and the Cable Car was stopped downhill for a short time in heavy rains. Take care about this aspect and plan.
  • Awesoommmeee vieww pointtt for vzg
  • Really a cool place to visit. It provides a spectacular view of the entire Vizag city. Idols are fascinating. Don't forget to take a toy train ride, beside all of this you can also have some adventure on the rope-way. #VizagDiaries
