Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatnam

This zoo does have a few animals but big animals especially carnivores are few and far between, there were few empty cages like this of wolves when we visited. Be prepared to walk around a lot and a good 2-2.5 hours of non stop walk if you want to cover all animals. There are few toilets along the way, but their numbers and cleanliness need improvement. If you have been to a much more organized zoo like that of Mysore, you can give it a skip in case you are in a tight schedule.

Awesome Experience of the exotic wild life in India. One of the biggest zoos in the country with Birds, Mammals, reptiles, serpents & aqua life to offer. 🦁🐯🐅🐆🦓🦌🐮🐃🐘🦏🐢🐊🐍🦡are a must see. Cost Affordable, It also has a battery shuttle, for which you have to book in advance. Also you can take your car inside for a fee of Rs. 500

Loved the place. But some of the animals were missing. If u go in to zoo by walk you will definitely get leg pains after going home... But loved the nocturnal animals.. And the way the guide explained us was good

We were excited to see this zoo as it is the third largest zoo in the country. Ticket price is bit high like 50/- for adults and 10/- for kids. Battery car is for 300/-. No ostrich, zebra, giraffe, gorilla, python, different snakes, peacock. You can see white tiger, Bengal tiger, bear, elephant, leopard, wild dogs, hippopotamus, rhinosaur, chimpanzee, hyena, different dear, lion, tortoise, alligator, crocodile etc. There is a canteen inside. Filtered/ mineral water are available in different spots. There are benches to take rest here and there. To enter the zoo there are two gates. Main gate and Beach road gate.

One of the biggest zoo, they have options to let your car in which you can drive inside zoo to see different sections/animals. Of you have elder or kids with you and have your own car better to pay the fee to take your car inside else be ready to walk for more than 6 km or so to cover all the spot. I want to make the visit exciting and did a mistake of covering the zoo on foot with 3 yr kid.
