Cave Religious Site
Witness an example of Indian rock-cut architecture and a memorial to the masonry prowess of the old Indians at Undavalli Caves. See the caves cut out of solid sandstone of the hill in the 4th century C.E, with the most renowned of them being four-storey high with a huge representation of reclining Vishnu, sculpted from a single piece of granite. Learn about the history of many Buddhist artifacts converted into Hindu temples and deities. Marvel at the architectural feat of the Gupta architecture. Watch over the Krishna River and the scenery surrounding the temples. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Undavalli Caves by using our Vijayawada vacation trip planner.

  • Awesome view throughout the year but especially in rainy season. Lord Vishnu's Statue sculpted in a rock is simply piece of art. It's 20-30 minutes drive from Prakassam Barrage.
  • A renowned tourist spot on the way to AMARAVATHI,, it has the statue of LORD SHRI ANANTHA PADHMANABA SWAMY
  • Not many sculptures. But the mighty vishnu sculpture is beautiful and impressive. You just need one hour to explore the caves, so don't plan your day just for this.
  • For seeing Anantha Padma Nabha Swami statue more than that don't expect much more other wise I will disappoint
  • superb one and nice weather and nice place to enjoy with our family inside lord sri maha vishnu is very beutiful we should not forget to worship
