Where to stay in Varanasi

The old city of Varanasi has a long history of pilgrimage and tourism, and its range of accommodations has developed to a high degree to meet the vast demand from across India and further afield. Perhaps the most interesting and atmospheric place to stay can be found in the area surrounding the ghats on the west bank of the river. You can find an eclectic mix of simple hotels and guesthouses all the way from this point up to the main train station. North of the station sit the most luxurious of the city's accommodations, with views of the tributary that runs through the north, and a range of additional facilities.

  • As tourist I like this Ghat best in Varanasi. Not so crowded, quiet authentic atmosphere. People leave you alone to enjoy the sphere. Close by Assi Ghat has a beautiful morning ceremony with Yoga exercises.
  • Natural GHAT to take a dip in holy Ganga at Tulasi and ASSI GHAT without slipping over stairs. Broad stairs to get down towards MA Ganges.
  • Very old and holy place near holy river Ganges. On the set of this ghat maharishi tulsi das has written the epic Ram Charit Manas There was an python appears at the shiv Temple nearby Tulsi ghat
  • Thumbs down , More showoff , reality is negative. Need to manage the world heritage under proper people.
  • The ghat named base on sant Tulsi das ji
