  • This small temple was suggested by Mahatma Ghandi to celebrate India and not a religion. The bas relief map is very helpful in illustrating the vast diversity of the country. It is small but nice.
  • Take off your shoes and go. Admission is free of charge. Gandhi is likely involved in the open. Technicolor painting seems had been painted on the wall are quite weathered. Standing figure of a woman's form India and said so.

  • Very unique. Got to see the undivided India's map . Best part is the 3D effect of the map showing mountains, plains and valleys. Good for children / students.

  • Very nice place Bharat mata mandir varanasi
  • One of very underrated place to visit in Varanasi. This place is good to explore things from independence . Also there is a huge map with topological feature inside . A must visit for explorers !
  • Though there are not enough people visiting this place but this is one of the great memorials of our independence struggle. It doesn't contains any idol but a map of india is there in the centre of the hall.
  • The temple has a scaled map of the subcontinent indicating the physical features which is rare considering most of the temples have an idol. The temple was built before India's independence and thus assumes importance in more than one way. The physical features on the map are built to scale, which is a commendable task considering the technologies developed at that time. Moreover, the idea of constructing such a temple would certainly be to invoke a sense of patriotism. Unfortunately, we have failed to maintain this heritage as several carvings on the walls are erased and the surroundings are not so clean, and thus rating it one star less.
  • Its the only temple in India which shows the Mother India as a Goddess. a Very beautiful large map of Undivided India and a statue of Mother India, along with the sayings and lots of old scribes printed on the wall. One must visit there if coming to Varanasi for its Heritage.
