  • We read about Baba Black Sheep in Lonely Planet and decided to check it out. What a wonderful experience. Fixed prices- a relief to not be haggling but also not ripped off. Cool and comfortable, chai ...  more »
  • Seller very quiet. He begins by explaining the true from the false. Very interesting. Quality products

Google
  • So yes it is Lonely planet recommended, his choices are rich. Owner friendly knowledgable and serves you chai. He will give you a 20-30 minute talk on how to ID silk and Cashmere when burnt, the first smell like hair the second clumps. Scarves 20$ up Fabric for Sari drape 45-50$ up for 5 meters Negative: you pay foreigner prices because it is written up in Lonely Planet. 20$ for that silk scarf instead of 8$-10$. I saw the same silk scarf in Delhi for less of the cost. That being said, I view it as paying for a learning experience, pleasant enough, just not a fair cost for India shopping.
  • Lots of information about the products and a few tests to see if you are buying the real deal. It's very difficult to tell! Large range of products. Very nice and helpful staff.
  • GOOD SHOP
  • Welcoming little shop with a showroom for a broad selection of typical cotton, silk, pashmina, etc. products in different qualities. The prices may or may not be cheap but fair enough, this shop is an "oasis" with air-con and perfect english consultation away from the chaotic streets. The owner is a smart business man with a touch of arrogance and a successful, bilateral concept for both, his business and foreign tourists. I trusted him more than the exhausting touts from the markets and I truly enjoyed his "shop experience". Kudos to him also for spending a lot of time explaining the materials and how these can be correctly identified. In a nutshell: I'd recommend this place if you want to be sure of WHAT you are buying!
