(3.7/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
See where energy comes from and learn what it takes to power modern life atSholayar Dam. Visit the water storage crucial for the locals and see the legacy of K Palanisamy built in 1965 only 20 km (12 mi) away from the city; the station stands among the hills as a part of a project for hydroelectric energy in the district. Walk the 430 m (1411 ft) dam to feel the power of the water beneath you, and gaze towards the horizon from the 66 m (216.5 ft) tall structure. Time your visit to when the reservoir is full to see the water released. Sholayar Dam is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Valparai Edition.
