4.4
Admire the extravagant architecture of Laxmi Vilas Palace and learn the history of the Maratha family that once ruled the state. Still the official residence of the Maharaja of Baroda, the palace dates back to 1890 and features an Indo-Saracenic style, combining both Indian and Muslim influences, as well as European Gothic features. The onsite museum contains works from the family's private art collection, while several of the main rooms open to the public each day, displaying rich interiors replete with mosaic floors, Belgian stained glass windows, and impressive chandeliers. • Went for a wedding here and I must admit this was one of the most nicest venues for a wedding. It seemed like it had been renovated recently and renovation done right. The place is elegantly decorated with wood and brass. The staff here was cordial and responsive to requests. The venue is highly picturesque at night and worth the money spent. The food served here was really top quality, fresh and tasted really good.
  • One of the oldest and most lavish heritage investments in India. Priced slightly higher but worthy for one visit. They provide an ear piece individually which guides you through the palace. You experience rich princely culture, habits and lifestyle. The cafe provides a limited variety of food items. the place is well managed and the lush green gardens are well tailored at all times.
  • Amazing place, very well maintained and a must visit. The architecture definitely leaves you stunned. Huge palace with wonderful work of art. And audio guides really hello understand the structure and history. Just a couple of hours drive from Ahmedabad and wonderful highway. Not to be missed.
