Maharana Pratap Memorial commemorates the 16th-century Hindu ruler called Pratap Singh, and his lifelong struggle against the Mughals. The memorial features a life-sized bronze statue of a gallant warrior mounted on a legendary horse Chetak, which attacked a war elephant and leaped across the pass of Haldighati. At the Hall of Heroes, history buffs can enjoy murals, paintings, and portraits of warlords, while children can admire mannequins dressed for war and large models of old cities and battlefields. The attraction narrates the history of the area, while the statue continues to feature prominently in many popular Bollywood movies.   • Great place to visit. We need to climb a lot, better take you cab with you inside. Visit museum then the statue. Great models there. View of city is awesome from above.

  • Maharana Pratap Smarak - Maharana Pratap Singh was born on 9 May 1540. He succeeded to the throne of Mewar on 28 February 1572 on the Death of Maharan Udaisingh. with the throne of Mewar, Pratap also inherited the implacable enmity of the Mughal Emperor Akbar who was determine to Subjugate Mewar. Akbar had Already occupied chittor in 1568 after a long and bitter struggle. Unlike his other contemporaries, Pratap Preferred a life of struggle and Hardship for the preservation of cherished ideals of freedom and Honor to that of Life of ease and security by Acknowledging the suzerainty of Akbar. Mewar found a true Patriot and leader in Pratap in her hour of Tribulation. He infused courage and confidence into his Men and Stirred them from their repose to stand united in his long and grim fight with the mighty mughal emperor. Akbar sent a number of missions to bring pratap to his Fold, but they failed to conciliate Him. The Conflict was inevitable. soon mughal onslaughts started against pratap with Great Force, The most Famous Being the Battle of Haldi-Ghati. with his tiny Kingdom and Meagre resources pratap put the most Stubborn Resistance for Twenty-Five Years. Even after employing the vast Resources and the best Military Talent of his Empire, Akbar Could not Subdue Pratap till the End of his Life. During this long period Pratap Received Unstinting support of the People of Mewar whose spirit he Represented with Remarkable Fidelity. Maharan Pratap Passed away on 19 January 1597.
