A complex of 108 temples chiseled out of marble and sandstone, Eklingji Temple was begun in 971. As you enter the complex, notice an elaborately pillared, double-storied hall under a pyramidal roof. Look for the four-faced icon of Shiva, made of black marble and attracting numerous Hindu devotees from all over India. This temple isn't within the city, hence had to travel a bit to reach here..but the whole travel was worth it. The temple isn't crowded at all and is not very big. It has 108 Shivlings around the main... read more »
One associates temples with not so clean environment, crowded areas etc, but not so here. very very clean, very well organised and a delightful experience.
