Athirappilly Waterfalls, Thrissur

4.6
Called by many the "Niagara of India," Athirappilly Waterfalls represent the tallest falls in the state of Kerala. Hike the undulating road through a picturesque setting sprinkled with villages and lush greenery, until you reach the top of the falls. For a closer look at the rushing water, you can take the narrow road to the base of the falls--if you do, walk carefully on the steep and slippery path. A visit to Athirappilly Waterfalls represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Thrissur route planner to plot your vacation.

  • Wonderful place. You will never forget if you visit it. Go with a spare dress, towel. Go to the downhill first watch the Falls, get drenched and then climb up the hill. Take bath in the river. There memories would be in your mind for long time. If you have a water proof camera of mobile, don't forget to bring that to catch the wonderful scenes if the Water Falls and the river. Take care of you kids. The place is a bit slippery due to wetness of the river.
  • As i have visited here several times the beauty of this place increases day by day... Good for people with friends and family visiting here, we should take pass for each people and should pay 20 rupees if you have camera with you. A lot of stalls and restaurant are nearby for good and shopping. Please don't litter any waste and plastic around such places. Best visit during winter and spring season. Never enter too much into water as there is heavy flow beneath the water surface. So family people should take care of children and other members
  • One of the most beautiful Waterfalls i have seen so far. This place closes by 5 in the evening. Early morning is suggestible. Bethani resorts is one of the good place under decent prices to stay close to waterfalls. (No waterfall view though). Coming to waterfall: These days tourists are allowed only to the top of Waterfall. However, if you are a Adventure seeker, you can trek down using some forest paths. Waterfall is very beautiful and must be see during monsoon for better scenic.
  • Amazing place to go with family, friends and groups. Smoking is not allowed as it is located in a forest area. The roads leading to this place is really nice and the weather throughout the year here is also nice. Earlier people were let to get in the water and take bath and all, but for providing better security after some bad incidents took place as people tried to get more adventurous, the security now is a little tight than how it was earlier. The entrance here is decorated with Bamboo and a ticket is also charged here at the entrance. Entrance and exits are through the same gate, but through different openings of the same gate. Entry time is restricted and after a particular time, guards will come in and ask everybody go out. Overall a good place to go for a nature lover and the average adventure lover.
  • Largest waterfall in Kerala. I just loved the place. Anyone planning to go athirappally waterfalls please reach there before 5 pm, otherwise the ticket counter will be closed. As well as there is a long walk you have to make to reach the waterfalls. Have a good journeyđź‘Ť
